The Epps Bridge Centre, located off the Oconee Connector/ Jennings Mill Parkway extension, has gained new tenants: Dick’s
Sporting Goods and PetSmart.
These stores will join Off Broadway Shoes, department store Marshall’s
and the Georgia Theater Company, whose building permits have already been
filled.
The only announced
tenant prior to last week was the 16-screen movie theater, University 16
Stadium Theatre, which is set to open by Memorial Day of 2013. The theater is
expected to be the first business to open in the $76 million project.
Although many of the
retail spaces are vacant, developer The Bishop Company of Atlanta could be
constructing the buildings without an identified tenant to attract a specific
company or on speculation according to B.R. White, director of the Oconee
County planning and code enforcement offices.
During an interview
with university instructor Lee Becker, White said that other possible tenants
have been discussed, but no building permits have been issued.
